Sura al-masad (the Twisted strands)

Sura : Makki by Tilawat : 111 by Reveal : 6 Ruku` : 1 Ayats : 5 Part No. : 30

1. تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّO 1. ابولہب کے دونوں ہاتھ ٹوٹ جائیں اور وہ تباہ ہو جائے (اس نے ہمارے حبیب پر ہاتھ اٹھانے کی کوشش کی ہے)o 1. Perished be the two hands of Abu Lahab and be he perished himself, (he has pointed his finger to Our Beloved)! 2. مَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَO 2. اسے اس کے (موروثی) مال نے کچھ فائدہ نہ پہنچایا اور نہ ہی اس کی کمائی نےo 2. Neither His (inherited) wealth nor his earned riches have given him any benefit. 3. سَيَصْلَى نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍO 3. عنقریب وہ شعلوں والی آگ میں جا پڑے گاo 3. Soon he will tumble into the Flaming Fire, 4. وَامْرَأَتُهُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِO 4. اور اس کی (خبیث) عورت (بھی) جو (کانٹے دار) لکڑیوں کا بوجھ (سر پر) اٹھائے پھرتی ہے، (اور ہمارے حبیب کے تلووں کو زخمی کرنے کے لئے رات کو ان کی راہوں میں بچھا دیتی ہے)o 4. And his (damned, wretched) wife (too) who carries (on her head) the burden of (thorny) twigs (and spreads them in the way of Our Beloved, to injure his holy soles). 5. فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّن مَّسَدٍO 5. اس کی گردن میں کھجور کی چھال کا (وہی) رسّہ ہوگا (جس سے کانٹوں کا گٹھا باندھتی ہے)o 5. Around her neck will be (the same) palm-fibre rope (which she uses to bind the bunch of thorny twigs).
